Performance Indicator Data Sources - GHG
This page explains the logic behind how data is assigned to GRESB fields in the GRESB Asset Summary for GHG fields. This information is also available as a column in the GRESB Asset Summary dashboard.
All activity data is populated to align with the selected reporting period and floor area unit of measures defined in the GRESB Group Settings page. It’s recommended that you review your settings before assessing data quality, requesting validations or submitting data to GRESB to make sure GRESB and Envizi settings are aligned.
For all activity data (kWh of energy, tonnes of CO2e, m3 of water and tonnes of waste) see Tags and Location Settings to learn about how Envizi summarizes data for reporting.
Reporting for GHG requires very little configuration. Only accounts that should report in Outdoor / Exterior areas / Parking require tags. Also note that GRESB will validate your emissions data and if your building is configured as ‘Whole Building is Tenant Controlled’ = true, then GRESB will only accept Scope 3 data.
Other Performance Indicators
GRESB Field | Envizi Data Source |
---|---|
Scope 1 - Whole Building - Emissions (tonne) | Sum of Scope 1 emissions less accounts/meters tagged as 'outdoor'. |
Scope 1 - Whole Building - Floor Area Covered | If activity data exists, floor area coverage location setting, asset size (AC), tagged whole building floor area account. |
Scope 1 - Whole Building - Maximum Floor Area | If activity data exists, asset size (AC), tagged whole building floor area account. |
Scope 1 - Outdoor/ Exterior areas/ Parking - Emissions (tonne) | All Scope 1 GHG, within tagged accounts or meters. Note only tagged outdoor accounts / meters apply. |
Scope 2: Location Based - Whole Building - Emissions (tonne) | Sum of Scope 2 LB emissions less accounts/meters tagged as 'outdoor'. |
Scope 2: Location Based - Whole Building - Floor Area Covered | If activity data exists, floor area coverage location setting, asset size (AC), tagged whole building floor area account. |
Scope 2: Location Based - Whole Building - Maximum Floor Area | Special condition: If there is no data available for GHG, then GRESB requires at least the maximum floor area field is populated. Therefore if the asset is NOT tenant controlled then populate with sum of Base Building floor areas from location settings (RC), Base Building floor area accounts, Whole Building (AC), tagged Whole Building floor area account. |
Scope 2: Location Based - Outdoor/ Exterior areas/ Parking - Emissions (tonne) | All Scope 2 LB GHG, within tagged accounts or meters. |
Scope 2: Market Based (optional) - Whole Building - Emissions (tonne) | Not supported in 2021 GRESB reporting. Envizi does have a market-based emissions report available through the Sustainability module. Reach out to the Envizi Help Desk to have this configured. |
Scope 2: Market Based (optional) - Outdoor/ Exterior areas/ Parking - Emissions (tonne) | … same as above… |
Scope 3: Tenant Emissions - Whole Building - Emissions (tonne) | Sum of Scope 3 emissions less accounts/meters tagged as 'outdoor'. |
Scope 3: Tenant Emissions - Whole Building - Floor Area Covered | If activity data exists, floor area coverage location setting, asset size (AC), tagged whole building floor area account. |
Scope 3: Tenant Emissions - Whole Building - Maximum Floor Area | Special condition: If there is no data available for GHG, then GRESB requires at least the maximum floor area field is populated. Therefore if the asset IS tenant controlled then populate with sum of Tenant Space floor areas from location settings (RC), Tenant Space floor area accounts, Whole Building (AC), tagged Whole Building floor area account. |
Scope 3: Tenant Emissions - Outdoor/ Exterior areas/ Parking - Emissions (tonne) | All Scope 3 GHG, within tagged accounts or meters. Note only tagged outdoor accounts / meters apply. |
GHG offsets purchased - Outdoor/ Exterior areas/ Parking - Emissions (tonne) | Sum of emission reductions from accounts classified in the data type category for ‘Offsets’ Note tags are not necessary for offset accounts. |
