Managed Emission Factors - NGERs and NGA workbook
The Australian Government publishes a comprehensive set of GHG emission factors covering Scope 1, 2 data sources for the specific purpose of reporting under the National Greenhouse and Energy Reporting Act 2007 (the NGER Act).
Australia also publishes a set of factors called the National Greenhouse Accounts (NGA) Factors. While drawing on the NGER methods and factors, the NGA factors are a more general resource and include some Scope 3 indirect emission factors to account for emissions occurring outside their operations.
In many cases, the factors in this managed set are a combination of the direct factor information from NGER and the indirect factors from the NGA workbooks.
This factor set applies mainly to Australia but some organizations have chosen to apply this factor set across their Pacific operations.
Envizi has managed this factor set since 2009. This factor set has been published consistently dating back to 2007. Where available the factor set contains the breakdown of individual GHG gases (CO2, CH4, and N20) for fossil fuel sources and CO2-equivalents for all other sources.
NGER factors have specific reporting labels which assist in aligning Envizi’s NGER report outputs to match the input requirements for NGER reporters that need to use the Emissions and Energy Reporting System (EERS) to submit emissions and energy reports to the Australian government.

Note that Envizi calculates indirect (aka well-to-tank) emissions and these are visible in the Emissions Performance Dashboard and categorized as ‘lifecycle emissions’ in the grid. Lifecycle emissions can also be extracted using the Monthly Data Summary Report. |
